Membership Options
As a membership organization, it’s important to us that all people feel welcome at the YMCA and know that they belong. The YMCA of Greater Richmond does not require membership contracts and offers a variety of flexible membership options to meet your fitness, lifestyle and financial needs. The YMCA of Greater Richmond offers Metro Facility Memberships, Community Memberships, and some branches offer Branch Only Memberships. There are also Specialty Memberships. Here's a description:

Metro Facility Membership
Metro Facilities Members pay a one-time joining fee and low monthly dues for unlimited use of all 14 YMCA of Greater Richmond branches. Metro Facility Members also enjoy reduced fees on specialty classes and programs.

Rates are based on membership classification.

*The YMCA of Greater Richmond defines "Family" as any two (2) adults living in the household plus legal dependents (as defined by the State of Virginia). Adults must provide proof of address.

Community Membership
Community Members pay an annual membership fee plus the Community Member rate for selected programs such as swim lessons, youth sports, child care, and parent child programs. In return, Community Members receive an official YMCA member card, access to lockers rooms and lounge areas, a quarterly YMCA newsletter and access to special Community Member events.

The annual Community Membership fee is $25 for an individual – adult or child – or $50 for a family. Please visit your local branch to purchase a Community Membership. Community Memberships are not available for online purchase.

Branch Membership
Some branches offer a facility membership specific to that particular branch. Branch Members are free to utilize all services and programs available at their branch and may purchase programs at other branch locations.

Speciality Memberships
Some branches offer speciality memberships, such as Teen Memberships, Student Memberships or Summer Outdoor Pool Memberships. Ask about specialty memberships when you inquire at one of the 15 YMCA of Greater Richmond branches.

Methods of payment
Bank draft-- Your checking/savings account or credit card is debited once per month.
Annual Payment--  Dues may be paid in full upon joining and yearly thereafter.  Payment is accepted via cash, check or credit card.

Financial Assistance
As a mission-driven organization, the YMCA of Greater Richmond provides financial assistance and is committed to remaining open to all. If the Membership fees prove to be an obstacle to your YMCA participation, please contact your YMCA Membership Director. If you qualify for financial assistance for membership please visit your local branch to join.

Discounts/ Coupons
At this time, our online registration system does not allow for any form of discounts, coupons, system credits, or financial assistance.
